Loretta Lynn Area Qualifier – Day 2 Feb 12 2017

What would a Loretta Lynn race be without a bit of rain? Sprinkles over night and some rain fell during practice. But when the gate dropped on day 2, it was a mix of sun and clouds mixed in with ruts all day. Perfect racing to get ready for the AMA National Amateur Championship this summer. Check out the Arizona riders that took that next step to racing in Tennessee come August!

What a day it was to kick off the road to the AMA Amateur National Championship at Loretta Lynn’s ranch. The Southwest Area Qualifier at Arizona Cycle Park wrapped up day 1 with some great weather and even better racing. Congrats to those that qualified for the regional. Glendale SX – Qualifying

The lap times are in the books and we have a couple bow outs. Jeremy Martin in the 250s and Weston Peick in the 450s crashed out. Justin Hill took the top spot in the 250s while Blake Baggett was quickest in 450s. Track is getting faster and mistakes will be costly tonight. Check out the qualifying action!

Glendale SX – Pits & Track Walk

Glendale SX will mark the first truely dry race of the series. Inside the University of Phoexnix stadium will also mark the first race in a venue used primarily for football. That means the longest start straight of any race this year and very long rhythm lanes. The whoops are also the biggest. The riders and teams spent a lot of time looking them over. They may be the part of the track that can make or break your qualifying time. Check out some of the early morning pit action and the track walk.

AMA Buckeye Hare Scramble – Jan 8 2017

Once a year we get a day to leave the beaten path of the motocross track and forge new trails off in the desert. And that day was yesterday at the AMA Buckeye Hare Scramble at Arizona Cycle Park. It is always a treat to take off out into the desert sand wash or the single track through the foliage surrounding ACP. Check out the action from the mini-est of minis to the grisly veterans that have just as much grit in their personalities as the famed sand wash. Congrats to the winners and to those who were able to complete the marathon riding sessions!

We finally had cool fall weather for round 3 of the Saturday MX race at Arizona Cycle Park. Six motos down and two to go.
